Blog 2.- Why did i choose to study this degree?

At first I was not interested in the career that I am currently studying, the career of anthropology. From the beginning of high school, I felt and had an immense interest in a career in journalism and communications.
 
 
I believe that this guilty taste was born after I read the book "Chronicle of an announced death", written by Gabriel García Marquéz, because it is assumed that within the fictional world of the book the same author of the book actively participates as a journalist of a macabre crime (this book has a film adaptation).

However, in 2019, that is, a year ago I lost interest in journalism after I felt (and I say this very personally) that various television channels in Chile will carry out a caricature of the prelude and subsequent social crisis (the social outbreak) that was experienced here in Chile.

After having become disenchanted with the career, I decided to find one that would give me "the same mobility" as journalism and that at the same time would not fall so much into games or political speeches. This is how I came across ethnography, a discipline that can be understood as a specialty of anthropology that seeks to portray social spaces in the most reliable way possible, in order to understand their cultures. For that reason I chose anthropology. Next, i left you with two images of the front of a famous latin american etnographie: "The happy captivity".
